The worst sermon I have ever heard

I think it was 14 of us that ended up walking out today, from the worst sermon I have ever heard. The sermon was delivered by Phil Neighbors,
Co-Pastor at my favorite church , Valley Baptist Church, here in Balersfield, California. Pastor Phil ridiculed college professors and scientists, he made them out to be “fools”, the large congregation laughed along. Pastor Phil forgot Matthew 5:22 (King James Version)
“But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.”
The sermon was apparently designed as revenge against those whom make the programs on the “Discovery Channel”; however the sights seem to have targeted all who believe in modern biology, and even more on those whom teach it.
Pastor Phil told us to turn our Bibles to Genesis, but he failed to mention that according to the Bible, there are two different and contradictory stories of Creation in Genesis. The first runs from Genesis 1:1 through Genesis 2:3; the second picks up at Genesis 2:4 and runs to Genesis 2:25. The first story, Creation takes six days and man (and woman) are created last after all the plants and animals are created. In the second story, Creation takes one day, man is created first, then all the plants and animals are created, and finally woman is created.
The sermon reminded me of the heckling Jesus endured as he was striped, beaten and crucified. Laughing at people with other views is hardly Christian.. I am a Christian; I see no conflict with evolutionists, Buddhists, and anyone else whom has variant creation theories. John 3: 16 : “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”.I know I will be hated for attempting to bridge the gap between Puritanism and Christians that believe in modern biology. John 15:18 “If the world hates you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you”
I am but a minuscule afterthought of God’s great pan, but I will pray tonight to cleanse the hatred from the hearts of Valley Baptist Church.
